WELCOME BACK!!!
Studio M Family…we are filled to the brim with excitement about Season 5 and we CAN’T WAIT to see all of your faces!! Here is your monthly email with all things Studio M. Each month going forward, you will receive what we call the HAPPENINGS email so be sure to be on the lookout as ALL of the important things are included in those emails.
REMINDER: Classes start next week on Tuesday – September 5th!

WAITLIST STUDENTS
If your dancer is on a waitlist, we are working on extending the classes to accommodate those lists. We will hopefully be adding more classes to the schedule down the road but at the moment, this is our solution.
SEPTEMBER TUITION
Each month – around the 25th – you will get an email that notifies you that your tuition has posted to your account. Then you will see that the tuition is pulled on the 1st of the following month. This email will act as your notification that September tuition is posted to your account. You can get on the parent portal and pay your September Tuition at any time or wait until we pull it Tuesday – September 5th.
DRESS CODE
We will be following our dress code very closely this year. I have attached the specific dress code below but our basic rules are as follows: midriff & bottom covered, hair pulled back, appropriate shoes. Each genre of dance has further specifics so please refer to the document.

SHOE/APPAREL ORDERS
If you attended our Welcome Back party or our separate sizing day, your shoes/leotards should be here by next week! Yay! You can pick them up in the shop! If you still need to be sized, you can get sized by Tavja or Hallie the first week of classes. Please plan to arrive about 20min early as we will be trying to accommodate a large number of people needing to order & get sized.
UPDATED POLICIES
We have updated our policies for Season 5. If you haven’t already visited the Parent Portal to sign them, please do. The link is below.
ZOOM
We are encouraging parents of Combo, Levels 1, 2, 3, 4, Pre-Pointe, Medley & Merge to watch class via the Zoom link located on the dashboard of your parent portal. This is an easy way to observe class since we are not allowing parents to stay in the building during class times. Feel free to come in to pick up or drop off your child but remember that our space is limited. The Zoom recordings will also serve as the best way to make up a class. If you miss a class, you can email the studio for access to the recordings for up to two weeks after missed class.
REMINDERS
- Masks are optional for all students.
- Only Tots & Littles parents allowed to stay in the building during class.
- One parent/dancer. Minimal siblings.
- We do not have a water fountain so make sure your dancer has their own water bottle.
- If your dancer is sick at all, please stay home and use our Zoom option. Parents are welcome to watch class with this option.
- We will continue to use hand sanitizer upon entering & leaving the classroom, running air filters with cracked windows, cleaning between classes & fogging each night. We want to avoid alllll the germs!
DANCE SHOP
The dance shop has lots of fun studio merch for you to check out when you drop your dancer off or pick them up! We will be having a BACK TO DANCE sale in the month of September…check it out!! This is also the location to get sized for any required shoes or apparel. We will be stocking the shop with merch throughout the season & we offer gift certificates too!
With that exciting news, we have added a new staff member to run the shop and answer many of your questions! Scout Wenzel will be joining Hallie Lopuch a couple of days in the shop & we are so excited to have her on board! She will be in the shop on Mondays & Fridays, Hallie will be in there on Wednesday & Thursday & Tavja will be there on Tuesdays. Tavja and I are always available so don’t be shy & let us know if you need us.
ADULT DANCE WORKSHOPS & PERFORMANCES
We will be having 5 Adult workshops this season and we are so excited to get the adult students of Studio M dancing again!! Please be on the lookout for dates on our Social Media.
We are also teaming up with BRILLIANT artists in Missoula and sharing our rehearsal space with them. We will have the cast of the Rocky Horror Picture Show rehearsing in the evenings during the month of October and we are hosting MissCast Productions for a few rehearsals as well. We also have an adult tango group in the building every Monday night. We are so excited to support adult performers and future performance opportunities for our STUDIO M STARS.

SPIRIT WEEK
The number one rule at Studio M is to HAVE FUN!! One of the many ways that we do this is our monthly spirit week. We pick themes at the beginning of the year & encourage our dancers (and staff) to dress accordingly! Our first spirit week of the season is right around the corner – September 25th-29th! We want you to wear your favorite school colors or gear with the utmost pride!! Just be sure to follow our basic dress code: hair pulled back, midriffs & bottoms covered plus appropriate shoes. #gogriz
HOMECOMING
We will be in the UM Homecoming Parade this year & we would love any and all to join us! 8yrs old and above can join the Company in a short dance number that they will repeat through the parade route. Other ages can ride in the trailer or walk behind. We will give more information out as it nears but please keep September 30th in your calendars!
LOCKERS
If your dancer would like to rent a locker for the season, let us know. It will be $5/month if they keep a lock on it. We have a limited number available so it will be first come, first served.
PARENT PORTAL
Don’t forget to log in to your Parent Portal to access everything related to your account: schedule, transaction history, enrollments, etc. Here is a helpful instructional video to walk you through the platform. The Parent Portal link is located below.
